Reproductive Services
We offer a number of innovative reproductive services.
Progesterone Testing
We offer in house progesterone testing. This allows us to determine approximate time of ovulation, which we use to determine optimum breeding time.
The test turnaround time is approximately 1 hours.

Pregnancy Testing
Pregnancy conformation can be determined at 35 days using a blood test. We currently use Zoetis Relaxin test kit for this test.

Fetal Counts
Radiographs can be taken after 50 days of pregnancy to determine the number of puppies present. This is an aid in knowing when they are done whelping.
Semen Evaluation
Our clinic is equipped with a state of the art Semen Evaluation system. This Sperm Vision AR allows us to visualize the semen in real time. It evaluates the speed and ability of the semen to move. As well as a computerized count of the sperm cells. This allows us to have an estimation of the number of viable sperm cells. The system also allows us to do a morphological examination of individual cells for deformities in shape or tail conformation.
Surgical Insemination
Surgical insemination involves collecting the male dog or having chilled semen shipped and analyzing the semen for numbers, motility, and morphology. The female is then placed under anesthesia and a small incision is made into the abdomen. The uterus is located and the semen is placed in the lumen of the uterus with a small needle. Routine closure is then preformed.
Chilled Semen
At our clinic we are equipped to both ship and receive chilled semen. Ovulation timing progesterone testing is required to determine proper insemination time.
We also evaluate and chill semen for shipment to other clinics. We suggest that a new stud be collected and the semen extended once prior to the actual shipment so that we can determine if the semen will ship well.

C-Sections
Emergency c-sections can be performed on dogs who are in labor when things aren't going smoothly. In some cases, though, we may recommend an elective c-section if your female faces an increased risk of complications from their labor.
